A New Treasury, A New Sale & Rings to Buy!

Hello all!  I thought i'd spread a little holiday cheer this evening and let you know about three things...
1) I've got a new treasury up!
It's called "Christmas Cookies Without Calories".
These are great cookie-like creations that you can wear and won't have to feel guilty about it.
Click HERE to see these yummy pieces.

Number 2) I'm running another SALE!!!

When you use the promo code SALE20 at checkout, you will get 20% off your order of my handcrafted jewelry.  I hope you'll take advantage of this sale...still time to get your stocking stuffers after all.
All of my jewelry comes in a FREE gift pouch and I always offer FREE US Shipping.
So why not get your gifts now while they are on sale?
(I won't tell.)

And now, number 3)  I've recently listed some of my personal jewelry (not my handcrafted stuff, this is from my own collection) up on eBay.  To be frank (or judy or bill), I need the money.  So if you are looking for sterling silver rings as a gift, please take a look at the pieces I have up: http://shop.ebay.com/thegoblet/m.html

Just a note about the eBay auction items--my FREE US Shipping policy still applies, but the 20% discount does not.  the sale code is only valid in my Etsy shop.  However, if you buy from both, I will be more than happy to ship it all together in the same package.

Thanks for visiting and I hope everyone is taking some time here and there to have a cup of cocoa, watch a little Rudolph or Charlie Brown and taking a few moments to take in some of the lights of the season.

Sometimes it's the little things that can make you smile. :)

Until next time....

Shopping with Humor

It's Thanksgiving week and that means everyone is thinking, well, not of the yummy turkey, but rather the shopping that will commence the day after!
In a way, that's sad. Poor turkey. So neglected.
However, it IS shopping season and that's where I come in!
Handcrafted jewelry makes great gifts. And mine starts at just $13 (and Free US Shipping ALWAYS!)
Don't just think of friends and family. Think of your hairdresser, nanny, kid's teacher(s), postal woman, neighbor you've borrowed a cup of sugar from, your local coffee house barista who knows to get you your coffee before you go through caffeine withdrawal, your friendly bartender who listens to all your drama, your pharmacist who keeps you in valium, the dog groomer who shaves your poodle into funny shapes, as a bribe for your son's girlfriend to stay away from him,
or maybe you say the hell with all of them and just buy some goodies for yourself!
Whomever you buy for, I just hope you buy from me...I'm not gonna lie. There are some amazing crafters out there, many who follow my blog (hello!) however, I'd really like it if you bought a little something from yours-truly.
I hope this made you giggle a little bit today. I hope your turkeys are thawed out by Thanksgiving (mine wasn't last year, had spaghetti for dinner) and that you all remember the most important rule of the Thanksgiving...
CALORIES DON'T COUNT ON THE HOLIDAYS SO GO CRAZY!
That is all.
Happy Turkey Day Everyone--Much Love and Many Hugs!!!
Until next time...

Lots of smiles at the crafts fair....

Hey all, I just wanted to let you know that the crafts show yesterday went VERY well! I met the nicest people and sold a whole lot of earrings.

My first customer of the day really set the tone..."I'm so happy you're here again. I bought earrings from you last year and wear them all the time. Was hoping you'd be here so I could get more." What a wonderful way to begin the day. :)

The day ended just as great. A woman who had come by earlier showed up out of breath just as I was getting ready to pack up and go home. Turns out, she (literally) ran home to get her checkbook so she could catch me before I left for the day. She purchased a pair of earrings that I hadn't even seen her look at when she was there before--I was in such shock that she did this and I left the fair smiling ear to ear.

Everyone was so great yesterday. We ended up situated next to the same group we had last year...all of whom are just fantastic people. So glad I did this fair and can't wait until the next one!

Now while I have you here, wanted to let you all know that I've listed a bunch of new pieces tonight. Lots of great Fall items, a few pieces for the holidays and a few that would make great gifts this upcoming season.

New + History

I've made new pieces!

Ok, only four...but still...there's new goodies to see.

Springtime is 'occasion' season. Graduations, weddings, communions/confirmations and of course there are most certainly birthdays to be had!

I never make the same piece twice. I may make similar pieces in different color combinations, but the actual piece that you get from me is the only one that I've made.

Take the earrings above. I may make a similar pair using a Swarovski crystal drop or a stone bead, but the ones above will be the only pair using ivory freshwater pearls that I do.

Doing this for 10+ years, it gets hard sometimes to make sure duplicates aren't done. That's another reason for photographing everything. Having a record really helps me from thinking I've been 'inspired' to realizing that I've copied my own work. lol

There is of course an exception to the 'one of a kind' rule--that is: bridesmaids.

I've done wedding jewelry before and hope to more in the future. If a bride wants to order uniform pieces for her bridesmaids, I will certainly accomodate.

The only other time (and the last time I do this) that I've duplicated a piece was when someone noticed this necklace I created:
I love this piece.
Problem is, it was an 'accidental' piece! An experiment that just happened to go right.
Then someone emailed me and asked if I could make another one. It was almost a year later and I had forgotten how I had done the first one. (Again, I was playing around the first time--oops!) The second one took quite a while, wasted a lot of silver and because I had promised it at the price that the first one sold for, I lost out in the long run.
So I went back to my original plan of creating only one of a kind pieces.
I've gone on longer in this post than I have in quite some time...I shall now end this one. Just thought I'd give you all a little history into my creative process.
Thanks for visiting!
Until next time....

New Goodies, New Treasury and Nyquil

What a night! Listed new pieces, lucked out getting a new (and rather colorful treasury) and am fighting a cold that has me all kinds of icky. (NYQUIL RULES!)

Tonight I listed new Spring-y pieces that I hope all of you will enjoy checking out. Like the piece above! I hope you'll go to my shop and check out the other new pieces: http://thegoblet.etsy.com

My new treasury is all about the greens and blues. I call it Grass and Sky: http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=122399

I'm never at a loss for a title of my treasuries but today I just couldn't think of one. Thankfully I saw the name of the earrings from SailorgirlJewelry that are included in the treasury and it all came together!

So that's what's going on right now. Just a quick post and run for this evening.

Happy Monday!

Until next time...

Bunnies & Springtime

Tonight I came home to find that I had been featured in a wonderful Springtime treasury.

It has been a while since someone else has put me in one of theirs and it was such a nice surprise to see!

I also came home just in time to snag a treasury of my own.

Mine is called, Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail: http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=121647 and the one that I'm featured in is called, The Sweetness of Spring:
http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=92864

It seems that Spring is on everyone's mind tonight as I was able to visit many treasuries and see that it was quite the popular theme.

In keeping with tonight's mood, I'm sharing with you another one of my photos that I took here in town last Spring during the height of when the Cherry Blossoms were in bloom. I hope you enjoy it!

So, on this rainy, miserable night, I leave you all with thoughts of fuzzy bunnies, blooming flowers and bright and pretty colors!

Until next time...

All About the Ombre!

Ombre is back big time this season!
Ok, so you've never heard that term huh? No problem, I'm here to let you know what it is.
Simply put, ombre is when colors fade into each other.
It can be white fading into darker purples (look at my earrings here as an example) or one color fading into another--think of a sunset. Blues fading into oranges into reds. That is ombre.
This season, it's everywhere!
From jewelry, to scarves and sweaters, to jeans and skirts....lots of color and creativity to be found.
I was inspired by this to create a treasury of ombre jewelry and maybe it will inspire your creative visions as well: http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=120847
If you get the chance, take a peek before it expires and if you miss it, you can search the terms 'ombre' and 'fading' into Etsy and see the wonderful pieces that come up.
Have a great day!
Until next time...

Hope you'll take a peek!

My Dream Trip

For years now, I've been wanting to go to Iceland.

I don't know why or even where this idea came from, but a trip there would truly be a dream trip for me.

I honor of this trip, I created a new treasury that captures the beauty of the island both in photos and in artistic pieces that were inspired by the country.

I hope you enjoy it: http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=89944

Have a great weekend!!!

Spring, St. Pat's Day & Bunnies!

Hey guys!

Well, the Olympics are over and I can get back to this now. :)

As you can see from my bunnies here, (and my Etsy-mini to the right) I've been busy creating and trying to get into the Spring mood.

I have to admit, I'm quite the Winter person. All year long I look forward to Fall/Winter and normally hate Spring and Summer.

But you know? We've ALL had a hell of a Winter this time around. And this year??? I cannot WAIT for the Cherry Blossoms to bloom, the birds coming back, the warmer weather and not looking like the Sta-Puf Marshmallow man in tons of layers....it's time this Winter ended and for the pretty colors to come on back.

As St. Pat's Day celebrations start next week, I made sure to make some pieces to get you in the mood and feel lucky all year long!

Oh and what do I mean by "next week"?

Well here in my town, we ALWAYS celebrate on parade day. Usually the Sat. before St. Patrick's Day (unless St. Pat's actually falls on a Saturday) the festivities begin after the parade has ended. And then it's every man and woman for themselves. LOL

So be sure to check out my Shamrock goodies!

As for the Spring season? If you're like me, you think light, pretty pastels....Easter Egg colors, tulips (my favorite flower btw) anything to take the Winter gray's go bye-bye.

So I've made a few pairs that, while similar in style, use some fun and pretty light colors. They can be casual or dressy and can even make pretty gifts.

Finally, my bunnies!

(click on the pic above for a better look at them in all of their cuteness)

I do have more of these little guys but for now, I wanted to get at least one pair of them up. I hope you think they are as cuddly as I do!

I hope you all like my newest pieces...gonna do something different this time and leave you all with a nice pic of our local Cherry Blossoms from last year. We can all use a little pretty!

Until next time.....

Help Us Get to the Front Page!

Ok, I'm not going to post a treasury screen-shot this time around...that's 'cuz I want you to go and visit it!

http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=114599

Please go and check this one out...there's no more room for comments (yeah!) but you can still go and see it and click away.

Thanks so much!!!

To Twitter or Not to Twitter....That is the Question...

I've been toying with doing the Twitter thing for The Goblet for a little bit now.

I already have this blog, and a Facebook fan page (you can get there with the mini-version to the right), but wonder, is that enough?

Would love to get some feedback from those of you out there who do the Twitter thing. Has it helped? Is worth it?

I have to admit, I'm not a fan of Twitter myself. But I know that it's the next step in social networking promotions.

So c'mon--give me a shout-out! Let me know the good, the bad and the ugly of using Twitter!

Thanks in advance!!!

Until next time....

Inspiration comes from the strangest of places...

As you guys know (and if you don't, feel free to read old posts here), I am a treasury fanatic.

I've done so many now, that sometimes finding new ideas for them gets to be a little bit of a problem.

And then, life happens.

The other night I had a little fall and while in general I'm fine, I did end up with some interesting bruises.

Thus my inspiration for the Black and Blue treasury!

Just when you think your creative juices have left you, BOOM! (literally)

Feel free to click on the link to see the treasury live, it's going for two more days...or click on the image for a larger view of these folks wonderful creations.

I'm also going to include here the image of the full treasury--the 12 live pics along with the 4 alternates. Because I happen to think they are pretty nifty too!!!

Enjoy the choices and your evenings.
Until next time.....

Thursday, February 11, 2010

I got a little creative...

It's been a while since I sat down and made anything new, so last night I took some time and made a few new pieces for y'all to see.
St. Patrick's Day is coming up soon and when I found these great shamrock shape freshwater pearls I just had to get them!
Right now I have two pairs of earrings and a bracelet made with these pearls.
I've also put up a new pair of sterling and freshwater pearl dangles that are great for any occasion.
I hope you like them and will (hopefully) be posting even more new pieces soon!
Until next time....

Are you ready for some football?

Super Bowl Sunday is upon us and that means food, fun, silly commercials and oh yeah, the game itself!

It's such a fun night with friends, get into the football pools...and did I mention the food? lol

To celebrate the game, I created my new treasury with day in mind...

Game Day:

http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=111367

I hope you'll take a peek!

Have a great time tomorrow, be safe and if you have any money on the game, good luck!

Or....
Buy it for yourself! There is no rule against that you know. :)
Anyway, I hope you'll take a look and like what you see. http://thegoblet.etsy.com/
